Welcome to Hunt, New Kinders!
We're so happy you're here at Hunt! Kindergarten is an exciting new chapter for your little one and your family- a great opportunity to become immersed into the Hunt community.
If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity - whether it's 30 quiet minutes in the workroom laminating, cutting, and stapling papers, helping us lead classroom parties, helping set up the Dramatic Play Center every 4-6 weeks, or just attending a party to take photos for the Hunt Yearbook, we have a role that will contribute greatly to our Kinder experience!
PTA Kindergarten Team
Kindergarten Coordinator - Shelby Riley - KinderCoordinator@HuntPTA.org
Shelby was our Kinder Coordinator last year, too! (Perks of having kids 1 year apart!) She has a 1st Grader and Kinder. She will be coordinating the Classroom Parties and help lead our volunteers to help our amazing Hunt Kinder teachers!
If you're interested in helping in any capacity with Kindergarten, Shelby is your contact!
Fun Friday Coordinator - Shannon Killian - KinderFunFriday@HuntPTA.org
Shannon is our PTA volunteer extraordinaire - she's a corporate event planner by day, so she takes on coordinating some of our biggest events like Meet the Teacher and Field Day! She has a 3rd Grader and Kinder and will be coordinating Kinder Fun Fridays - a craft and snack activity held on the last Friday of each month.
We need 2+ classroom parents for each classroom to help execute this event - is this the role for you?
Dramatic Play Coordinator - Michelle Church-Sok - KinderDramaticPlay@HuntPTA.org
Michelle is new to Hunt and has taken on coordinating the Dramatic Play Center in the Kinder Big Centers. Michelle has a Kinder and also owns Crave Popcorn in Plano, a dedicated community partner to the PTA! She'll be volunteering her amazing creativity skills to provide our littles with a fun and immersive Kinder Dramatic Play experience!
We need a crew of volunteers to help Michelle set up the Dramatic Play Center (~1 hour every 4-6 weeks) - can you help us with this?
Yearbook Chair - Patty Carter - Yearbook@HuntPTA.org
Patty is another PTA volunteer extraordinare - playing many roles for our PTA. In addition to her role as our Yearbook Chair, she's in charge of coordinating our Fall Family Fun Night - Slide Back Family Party and maintaining the Memory Garden (the garden right outside the Kinder doors). Patty is also the leader for the Girl Scout Troop for Hunt Kinders through 3rd Grade!
Want to attend some of our Kinder events but feel more comfortable behind the camera? We need you to take photos of our parties and events, that you’re able to attend, for our yearbook!

Why Join the PTA
Our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) comprises parents, teachers, administrators, and community members dedicated to supporting every child in reaching their maximum potential.
Membership dues, donations, and volunteer hours play a pivotal role in funding the majority of school events and activities. While attendance at meetings and volunteering is optional, active participation from our community enhances the overall school experience.
Things to Look Forward To
Dramatic Play - Engaging in dramatic play supports children's emotional development by enabling them to express and explore feelings through roleplaying. This activity is part of their Centers program, which rotates with parent volunteers.
Fun Fridays - This volunteer-led activity usually takes place on the last Friday of each month. Volunteers carry out a creative craft and snack aligned with the curriculum.
Lunch - Parents can join children for lunch in the cafeteria starting the THIRD week of school. One volunteer per day is needed to assist opening lunch items.
Spirit Sticks & Top Dogs - Students earn Spirit Sticks and Top Dogs for awesome Hunt Hound behavior. These can be used to get fun prizes and privileges at school!
